The first eLoo · Santiniketan, India

An old bus.
A fresh way to stop.

A closer look at the spaces, details and people behind our first pilot.

One bus, thoughtfully reimagined.

01 / A little room to yourself

A necessary stop.
Made more comfortable.

The pilot brought private washrooms and handwashing spaces together inside a converted bus.

02 / Space to care

Different journeys.
Different needs.

The pilot included three women’s washrooms, an accessible / gender-neutral facility, and a space for breastfeeding and changing.

A more welcoming stop begins by considering who needs to use it.

03 / The people around the pilot

A little local hospitality
goes a long way.

Local women’s self-help groups were part of the pilot’s operating model, bringing refreshments and community participation to the stop.

Before the first stop

A second life,
with a different purpose.

A decommissioned bus became a practical way to explore a better roadside experience.
