Our story

Every journey deserves
a little dignity.

eLoo began with a familiar problem: a long road journey, and nowhere dependable to stop.

A personal beginning

What if the stop
felt like a welcome?

After seeing how the lack of suitable washrooms affected women on long journeys, Diptendu Roy set out to rethink the roadside stop.

The idea took shape in Santiniketan, where an old bus was converted into a facility with private washrooms, space for caregiving and community refreshments.

The ambition is simple: turn a necessary pause into a better part of the journey.

The eLoo idea

Designed around women.
Welcoming to everyone.

Comfort is in the consideration. A private space. A place to freshen up. Room for caregiving. People who bring a warmer welcome.

Women from the local community beside the first eLoo
The community around the Santiniketan pilot.

Rooted in the place

Local people.
Shared possibility.

The first pilot connected sanitation with local women’s groups and a refreshments counter. The people around a stop matter as much as the space itself.
